All Black Woman’s Petition to Stop Anti-Black Woman Media
I think part of why we’re seeing so much of this interest in the pathology of black women again is because of Michele Obama. Her presence alone does so much to upset the long-standing perceptions of black women that society needs to reassure itself that she’s an exception. As much as people want to through that angry black woman stereotype on her, she continues to show she is much more complicated than that and people just don’t know how to handle it. So now we get this resurgence in the whole what is wrong with black women narrative from a whole lotta non-black women.
